Is Vanier French-speaking?
Vanier is historically francophone, but French is no longer the majority language at home. In the 2021 census, via the Ottawa Neighbourhood Study, 26.1% of people in Vanier North and 27.7% in Vanier South reported French as the language most spoken at home.
As of · Updated
Wikipedia says Vanier was the main francophone area in Ottawa and that its francophone population fell from 63% in the early 1980s to under 40% by 2012. That uses a different measure from the 2021 figures above, so the numbers are not directly comparable.
French-language schools from two boards, CÉPEO and CECCE, are among the nearby schools.
